My approach to coaching is informed by the belief that we are all connected. For us all to be well, we need to change the systems of oppression and discrimination that cause harm to us. But at the same time, to do service to others and bring about systemic and institutional change we also need to feel well in ourselves.

Coaching is just one method of exploring values, developing self-awareness, self-efficacy and our own health and wellbeing such that we might ourselves thrive and flourish and contribute to supporting others, changing systems and making the world a better place. In team or group coaching the collective might work together to bring about a change to a system.

Equality and inclusion

I am committed to developing equity and inclusion in my coaching practice and this means:

  • I learn from those with lived experience of harm, prejudice and inequality

  • I aim to work from a position of deep listening, compassion and curiosity, understanding that we are all different and also products of the world we live in

  • In coaching we may at times look critically at a belief, thought, system or organisation that is from outside of us and doing harm

  • I may compassionately explore with coachees any biases or prejudices that I become aware of in their speech or actions and ask them to do the same for me

  • I don’t support diets and diet culture

  • I believe we need to sit in discomfort as we explore complexity and nuance and feel our way into something new

  • I believe our bodies can sometimes guide us in understanding the harm we are experiencing from the world, from our own thoughts and different parts of ourselves

  • I may not be the best coach for everyone

  • I offer a sliding scale for payments

  • I welcome honest feedback on my practice and this website.
