The Caminito del Rey (the King’s Little Path) is a walkway hanging at certain points 300ft above ground from the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, Andalucia. It takes you through the Gaitanejo gorge, the Tajo de las Palomas canyon and over the Puente del Rey suspension bridge.

Not many people I know have had coaching and so I wonder if not many people, outside of the coaching world, know what coaching is. Or if they do, they don’t think it will be time or money well spent. Perhaps they think that they don’t need it enough, that their issues and challenges aren’t that serious, that there is stigma in seeking coaching. To help shed some light, I thought I would share some of my experiences of being coached and how I have benefited.

You may have been a feminist since you were a teenager, read ‘Our Bodies, Ourselves’ in the 80s and worked in sex and relationships education, but your understanding of the menopause is limited to hot flushes and jokes about ‘drying up’.

At the end of May 2022, after 21 years and 5 months, I left my council job, providing support for education settings in developing practice in the areas of PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education), anti-bullying and equality.
